Eagle Eyes

Just how keen are your eyes compared to an eagle? Here is a simple way to find out.

Tie a bright colored piece of thread or yarn around a post or tree. Now walk backward. Stop when you no longer can see the thread.

How far can go before you no longer can see it? An eagle can resolve this up to 10 times further than you can. In other words, if you could just barely see the thread at 150 feet (50 meters), an eagle can spot that same thread from 1500 feet (500 meters) away!
